    Online Archive Material: The Biodiversity Heritage Library improves research methodology by collaboratively making biodiversity literature openly available to the world as part of a global biodiversity community. Titles here include two books of field notes by Arthur Wilson Stelfox in 1960 & 1961 which include mentions of Donegal. They are primary field note records of hymenoptera but botanical specimens are also included.

    Webpage & Publication: North Coast Area for Marine Protected Area Designation.

     

    The north Donegal coast was identified by Fair Seas as a high biodiversity ‘Area of Interest’ for potential Marine Protected Area designation, in their report ‘Revitalising Our Seas. For the full site synopsis and references refer to their website.

    Website: Wild Atlantic Nature LIFE Integrated Project (IP) is a nine-year environmental project (2021-2029) led by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. It aims to improve Ireland’s performance in conserving habitats, and in particular to improve the conservation status in the Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) Network of blanket bog, a priority habitat under the Habitats Directive. Donegal is one of the project areas.
